OUR STORY
O Niki Australian sustainable slow fashion label. A carefully curated collection of sustainable and eco-friendly bikinis and swimwear.
O Niki Bikinis is an Australian swimwear label. Our original prints are inspired from India. Our story began with our personal desire for a new adventure and love for travel, especially to culturally rich and tropical locations. We wanted to marry our Indian heritage and our love for the beach to create a unique bikini that reflects a part of India on the beach in a modern way. To achieve this we looked for inspiration in the heritage fabrics of India and immediately fell in love with the design and colours of the bandhani fabric for our first collection.
Along with adapting the heritage fabric we wanted to add a few other unique elements. For the bikini and swimwear ties we took inspiration from the choli (a traditional Indian top). The choli has a very distinctive feature for the tie which was added to the bikini.
O Niki is a modern Australian swimwear label synonymous with beauty, luxury, sustainability, affordability and quality. These unique, Indian influenced collections are infused with bold colours, a modern flare and comfortable designs.
Iconic feminine designs, immaculate fit, soft-to-touch recycled fabric and enduring quality is what O Niki is all about. Adjustable ties are featured on every piece making them customisable to your body type.
At O Niki we photograph our bikinis on a diverse range of models, beach lovers and tropical souls. O Niki bikinis are designed especially for the stylish girl who is minimalistic, confident, and carefree. Whether she’s lying on the beach in the tropics soaking up the sun, sitting poolside with her friends, or swimming in the ocean, she’s happy and glowing because she feels comfortable and confident in her own skin.

Travel and Fashion. I love discovering new ideas and places. I have lived in Australia (Sydney), Singapore, Spain, New Zealand, Vanuatu and now in live in Melbourne.
What inspired you to start O Niki?
It really just came down to the fact that I couldn’t find any unique bikinis that I liked or that looked good on me. This was a serious issue for me because I spend every free moment at the beach. I wanted to buy quality and found most brands were overpriced. I wanted something different.
What’s different about O Niki?
Our original prints are inspired from Indian heritage fabrics. The swimwear ties are unique to our brand - Indian inspired ties as seen in a choli (traditional Indian top).
Our swimwear is adjustable so that women can find their perfect fit regardless of cup/waist size. All of the styles are simple, providing comfortable enhancing fits. We use the highest quality eco-friendly sustainable fabrics.
Who is O Niki Bikinis for?
O Niki is designed especially for the stylish girl who is minimalistic, confident, and carefree. Whether she’s lying on the beach in the tropics soaking up the sun, sitting poolside with her friends, or swimming in the ocean, she’s happy and glowing because she feels comfortable and confident in her own skin.
How did you make the decision to go eco-friendly?
According to an analysis by Business Insider, fashion production comprises 10% of total global carbon emissions, as much as the European Union. It dries up water sources and pollutes rivers and streams, while 85% of all textiles go to dumps each year.
Slow fashion is the widespread reaction to fast fashion and its environmental impact, the argument for hitting the brakes on excessive production, overcomplicated supply chains, and mindless consumption. It advocates for manufacturing that respects people, the environment and animals.
At O Niki we make a limited number of swimwear with love for our customers and pay our respects to mother earth. Also the sustainable fabric we use is very high quality which makes our swimwear durable. We manufacture small batches ethically in a factory in Indonesia.
